A wedding at Boschendal Estate

The Venues

The Olive Press is a light-filled, double-volume hall with exposed beams, an indoor bar and a fireplace, opening onto lawns with views of the fynbos garden and mountains. It seats up to 200 guests. The Rhone Homestead is a restored Cape Dutch national monument beside the rose garden, suited to intimate weddings of 40 guests indoors or 80 outdoors. The Retreat is an exclusive-use hideaway with its own amphitheatre, natural pool and fynbos gardens, for up to 72 guests who stay on site.

What's Included

Each venue package includes an event service manager, barmen, bathroom attendants, security and back-up power, with tables, chairs and bar glassware at the Olive Press and the Retreat. The Olive Press and the Retreat include a set-up day before the wedding.

Food & Drink

Catering is by Boschendal's pre-approved caterers, who share the farm's focus on fresh, seasonal produce. Boschendal runs the bar with its own wines. Pre- and post-wedding events, from welcome drinks on the Manor House lawns to a casual evening at the Friday Night Market, can be added.

Accommodation for Guests

Boschendal's cottages can sleep up to 216 guests, so family and friends can stay on the farm. Stays at the Werf and Clarence cottages come with the Olive Press package, and the Retreat's 18 cottages are included in its exclusive use.

Good to Know

A wedding planner is required, and décor, sound and ceremony seating are sourced separately. Events end by 02:00 (midnight at the Retreat), and site visits are by appointment Monday to Saturday. Wine in the Cape can arrange your quote, site visit and guest transport.
