The experience

About this tour

Your own guide, your own vehicle and a day in the Winelands planned around you. Our full-day private wine tour takes you to three handpicked estates in Stellenbosch, or across Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, with tastings, pairings and cellar and vineyard tours along the way.

There's no group to keep pace with and no fixed script. Tell us what you enjoy, whether that's bold reds, sparkling wine, big views or small family cellars, and we'll shape the route to match. Your guide handles the driving in an air-conditioned vehicle, so all you need to do is taste.

A full day with a guide who reads the table, not a script — the morning’s tasting sets up the afternoon’s, and nothing is rushed to fit a timetable.

What makes this day different

Why this tour

Yours from pickup to drop-off

One guide, one vehicle, one group — yours. There is no coach to rejoin and no stranger’s schedule to work around, so the day moves at the speed of the people in it.

A route chosen for the day

We plan the estates around what you actually like drinking and how far you want to travel, then keep the flexibility to change our minds when a cellar door turns out to be the best part of the morning.

Long lunch, properly

A full day is the only format that leaves room for a real lunch between tastings rather than a hurried sandwich in the van. The table is booked, the pace is set, and the afternoon starts when you do.

Is this your kind of day?

Who it's for

Couples and small groups

Two to six people who would rather share one considered day than book a seat on someone else’s.

Curious drinkers

Travellers who want to understand a valley, not just tick off a tasting room or two.

Slow starters

Anyone who would rather see three estates properly than six in a blur.

A tip from your guide

Book the long lunch first and build the day around it. The best estate tables in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek fill weeks ahead, and a confirmed lunch gives the whole route its spine.

Full-Day Private Wine Tour: questions, answered

Usually three to four, with a proper lunch stop. The exact number depends on how long you like to linger at each cellar — we set the pace with you on the day rather than holding to a fixed count.
