Why this tour
Wine tastes better with something on the plate. Our food and wine days are built around the pairing — cheese and charcuterie, biltong, chocolate, ice cream or wood-fired pizza — at the estates that do it best.
They are private days: your own guide and vehicle, collection and drop-off at your Cape Town accommodation, and three or four estates between roughly 09:00 and 17:30. Tastings and the pairing at each stop are arranged and booked for you. Lunch is paid on the day unless the tour you pick includes it.

Anyone can pour you a good glass. The Winelands puts something on the plate that makes it sing.
What makes it special
The highlights
Built around the pairing
Each stop is chosen for how its wine works with its food — cheese, biltong, chocolate, ice cream or pizza.
Tastings and pairings included
The estate tastings and the pairing at each stop are part of these days, not an extra at the counter.
Stellenbosch, Franschhoek & Paarl
Most pairings run in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, with Paarl, the Swartland and Hemel-en-Aarde on request.
A full day, unhurried
Three or four estates between about 09:00 and 17:30 — real time at every stop.
Is this your kind of day?
Who it's for
Food people
You plan trips around restaurants, and a pairing menu counts as sightseeing.
Celebrating something
A long lunch, matched glasses and a day built around the table rather than the road.
Generous hosts
You're travelling with people who'd rather sit and eat than rush between four cellars.
Before you go
What to expect
- A private guide and vehicle for the day
- Collection and drop-off at your Cape Town accommodation
- Three or four estates, each with a tasting and a pairing
- A lunch stop at an estate restaurant, paid on the day unless your tour includes it
- Wine bought at the estates is yours to take home
A tip from your guide
Ask us which estates on your route do a proper sit-down lunch. It's the stop that turns a tasting day into a day out.

How the day unfolds
Timings shift with the season and the estates on the day — but the shape of it stays the same.

- Morning
First estate, first pairing
A tasting with its pairing — cheese and charcuterie, biltong, chocolate or ice cream, depending on the route.
- Late morning
Second estate
Another cellar and another pairing, often a smaller farm where the food and the wine are made by the same people.
- Lunch
A stop at an estate restaurant
A sit-down lunch on the farm, paid on the day unless your tour includes it. We book the table; you order what you like.
- Afternoon

The last tasting of the day, and time to buy a bottle or two to take home.
- 17:30
Back at your accommodation
Dropped back in Cape Town, with the evening still ahead of you.
