The Swartland Wine & Olive Route covers a vast area, stretching from Piketberg in the south to the Berg River in the north, and includes the towns of Malmesbury, Riebeek Kasteel, and Riebeek West. What unites these places is a shared passion for quality, innovation, and connection — with the land and with each other.

Here, backroads lead to hidden gems: old vine vineyards, off-the-grid cellars, community-driven markets, and family-run farms where it’s not uncommon to be greeted by the owner or winemaker with a glass in hand and a story to tell.
