Stellenbosch combines historic Cape Dutch architecture with world-class winemaking, and this tour is curated to show both sides — from Simonsig, founded by wine industry pioneer Frans Malan, who introduced South Africa’s first Méthode Cap Classique sparkling wine and co-founded the Stellenbosch Wine Route in 1971, to Mitre’s Edge, a small family-run boutique winery producing award-winning Bordeaux-style reds at the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountain.

Simonsig Wine Estate — A 206-hectare farm growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinotage, and the birthplace of South Africa’s first Méthode Cap Classique.

Mitre’s Edge Wine Estate — A 25-hectare family-run boutique winery known for excellent red wines, including a rare single-varietal Petit Verdot.

Yes. Pickup and drop-off in Cape Town are included. Guests staying in Camps Bay or the Southern and Northern Suburbs should arrange their own taxi to the Never@Home Kloof Street pickup point at 73 Kloof Street, Gardens, by 08:00.

What if I’m already staying in Stellenbosch?
Guests staying in Stellenbosch will need to arrange their own taxi to the first winery and from the last winery, as the estates are located 10 to 15 minutes outside town.

Is this tour suitable for wine beginners?
Yes. The tour includes guided cellar tours and tastings designed for all experience levels, from first-time tasters to experienced wine enthusiasts.

Can I buy wine at the estates?
Yes, though personal purchases are not included in the tour price and are paid for separately at each estate.
