The experience
About this tour
Discover the birthplace of South African wine. Our private Classic Constantia wine tour visits three or four of the Constantia Valley's most historic and prestigious estates, with Cape Dutch homesteads, vineyards cooled by the ocean and the legendary Vin de Constance.
Constantia is the oldest wine region in the Southern Hemisphere, with more than 330 years of winemaking, and it's only about 20 minutes from central Cape Town. The sea breezes suit elegant whites, especially Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, and you'll have your own guide and vehicle for the day.

Constantia is the Cape’s oldest wine route and still its most beautiful — green, cool, and twenty minutes from the city instead of an hour and a half.
What makes this day different
Why this tour
The original wine valley
These estates were making wine for European courts before most of the New World had planted a vine. The history is not staged for visitors; it is simply where you are standing.
Short drive, long day out
No dawn start and no long return. Constantia sits behind Table Mountain, which leaves more of the day for tastings, gardens and lunch rather than tarmac.
Cool-climate wines
Constantia’s whites and its famous sweet wine come from a cooler corner of the peninsula. It is a distinctly different flight from a Stellenbosch red day, and worth doing both.
Is this your kind of day?
Who it's for
Short-stay visitors
Travellers with a day to spare in Cape Town who want the Winelands without the drive.
Couples and honeymooners
Green mountain views, quiet gardens and a route that feels private even in season.
White and sweet wine drinkers
Anyone who prefers a crisp white or a glass of Vin de Constance to a heavy red.
A tip from your guide
Go early if you are visiting in summer. Constantia is the closest wine route to the city, so the estates fill fastest — a morning tasting is calmer, cooler and easier to book.
