Three moments that make this day
Muratie's old cellar
Thick walls, low light and cobwebs left undisturbed on purpose, in the Melck family since 1763.
The Helshoogte Pass
Over the pass to Rupert & Rothschild for its three signature wines and lunch.
Boschendal's rose garden
A chocolate pairing at the Cellar Door before the flight home.

The experience
About this tour
Fly in to Quoin Rock, drive the Helshoogte Pass via historic Muratie to Rupert & Rothschild and Boschendal, and fly home from a different estate.
Choose this over the Delheim route for history and atmosphere over a classic terrace tasting. Boschendal's Cellar Door takes its last seating at 16:30; Rupert & Rothschild asks for lunch bookings three to four days ahead on weekdays, a week ahead at weekends.

Good to know
The practical details, answered before you have to ask.
Weather policy
Flies only when it's safe and comfortable. If the morning call grounds the flight, your day moves to a fallback date, not a cancellation.
Group size
Two to six guests per helicopter. Larger groups can be split across two aircraft — ask us.
Pickup
Starts and ends at the V&A Waterfront helipad, Cape Town. Hotel transfers can be arranged on request.
Dietary
Tell us vegetarian, vegan, halal or allergy needs ahead of booking — every estate restaurant can accommodate.
What to wear
Layers (it's cooler in the air) and flat, closed shoes for the estate gardens and cellars.
Best season
September to April for clear flying; June to November for southern right whales on the Walker Bay route.

Helicopter wine day FAQs
Our pilots make the call on the morning based on conditions. If it isn't safe or comfortable to fly, we agree a fallback date with you before you book, so your day is moved, not lost.
