Born from a shared passion for excellence and a centuries-long family history, Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons is a South African winery symbolizing the confluence of two great dynasties. The Rothschilds’ winemaking legacy stretches back to 1868 with Baron James de Rothschild’s acquisition of Château Lafite in Bordeaux. This love affair with the vine continued through generations, inspiring Baron Edmond de Rothschild to establish wineries worldwide, culminating in Edmond de Rothschild Heritage. In 1997, the Rupert family, renowned for their dedication to quality, joined forces with the Rothschilds, giving rise to Rupert & Rothschild in Franschhoek near Stellenbosch.
