The estate

Family-run Swartland winery at the foot of the Kasteelberg, known for accessible Chenin Blanc, Pinotage and relaxed picnic tastings.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Kasteelberg Mountain in Riebeek West, Pulpit Rock Winery is a family-owned estate steeped in Swartland history and tradition. Named after a rocky outcrop on the mountain, the winery stands as a testament to generations of Brink family heritage. From humble farming roots to a dream realised in 2003, Pulpit Rock Winery is today a state-of-the-art winemaking facility where quality, innovation, and tradition converge. With panoramic views, a rich family legacy, and a commitment to excellence, this winery offers a truly memorable Swartland experience.

Wine

The wines at Pulpit Rock reflect both a deep respect for the land and a meticulous approach to winemaking. Grapes are sourced from the family’s two farms, De Gift and Panorama, with the vineyards benefiting from Swartland’s shale and weathered sandstone soils, along with its signature cold winters and hot, dry summers. The result is a range of wines known for their structure, vibrant fruit, and elegance. Pulpit Rock’s cellar, with its 5,000-ton production capacity and two barrel maturation rooms, employs a blend of cutting-edge equipment and time-honoured techniques to produce wines of international quality.
