Lemberg Wine Estate is a boutique winery in the scenic Tulbagh Valley, renowned for its handcrafted wines and rare Hárslevelü varietal. The estate offers a tranquil setting for wine tastings and comfortable on-site accommodation.
Established in 1978 by the acclaimed winemaker Janey Muller, Lemberg Wine Estate holds a special place in South African wine history. Once known as the nation’s smallest winery, Lemberg, in Tulbagh, gained recognition for its innovative spirit and dedication to unique varietals. Janey, a pioneer in South Africa, planted the very first Sauvignon Blanc vines on the estate and later introduced the Hárslevelü grape. This Hungarian variety became synonymous with the Lemberg name. Today, the estate continues to thrive under the passionate leadership of Henk du Bruyn and Suzette Jansen van Rensburg. They uphold Janey’s legacy, crafting exceptional, terroir-driven wines with a meticulous focus on perfection and a deep respect for the land.
