Set on the upper foothills of the Constantiaberg, Klein Constantia is a historic estate world-renowned for its iconic Vin de Constance and cool-climate, terroir-driven wines.
Constantia
Klein Constantia dates back to 1685 and has been described as one of the world’s most beautiful wine estates. It is set amidst ancient trees on the upper foothills of the Constantiaberg, with views across False Bay. Klein Constantia, the ideal location for cool climate wines, produces some of South Africa’s best wines, including one of the world’s best natural sweet wines, Vin de Constance.
Wine
Klein Constantia’s vineyards are spread across the slopes of the Constantiaberg mountain range, benefiting from the valley’s unique microclimate. The vineyards receive gentle breezes from the nearby ocean, helping to moderate temperatures and create ideal conditions for grape cultivation. The combination of ancient soils, diverse microclimates, and the vineyard’s elevation plays a significant role in the creation of their distinctive wines.
From various expressions of Sauvignon Blanc to the legendary Vin de Constance, Klein Constantia’s award-winning wines are available for daily tastings. Both individuals and groups can expect focused and informative wine tastings. Due to limited capacity and availability, please book in advance to secure your seat.

Bistro at Klein Constantia is currently closed for refurbishment and is due to reopen by 1 November.
The Bistro on the estate is nestled under the jacaranda trees alongside an elegantly refurbished tasting room. Their food emphasises a ‘farm to table & head to toe’ theme, focusing on fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients. The carefully planned dishes highlight South Africa’s rich culinary tradition with a European influence. A range of Klein Constantia wines, as well as some wonderful older and rarer vintages from their wine library, complement the rural bistro-style fare. Crafted cheese plates are available from mid-afternoon and can be paired with the day’s Vin de Constance vintage.
