Jan Harmsgat is more than a tranquil retreat — it's also a working farm with a passion for producing small-batch, single-block wines. The estate boasts 16.8 hectares of vineyards, bordered by the arid Karoo and cooled by ocean breezes from the coastal regions. This unique terroir gives rise to elegant, expressive wines made with care in the heart of Swellendam. Crafted in limited quantities and sold throughout South Africa, JHG wines reflect a philosophy rooted in quality, terroir expression, and authenticity. In addition to wine, the estate also grows pomegranates and pecans, creating a diverse and harmonious agricultural environment.
