Iona Wines

Iona Wines stands as a unique vineyard, perched at 420 meters above sea level, making it the coolest vineyard in the Cape. It commands a breathtaking view over the picturesque Elgin Valley while being embraced by the Kogelberg Nature Reserve. To the south, the vineyard overlooks the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. In a country where cool-climate vineyard sites are treasures, Iona's location is akin to gold. The grapes ripen here up to two months later than other Cape vineyards, achieving perfect balance.

Iona is home to select grape varieties, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. The vineyard's commitment to quality is reflected in its investment in state-of-the-art equipment, including the latest WILLMES PRESS and BUCHER DELTA OSCILLYS DE-STEMMER. They embrace natural winemaking practices, using minimal sulphur, commercial yeasts, enzymes, and filtration to let the grapes' natural character shine.
