Esona is a boutique wine estate that produces limited-release wines from hand-picked grapes sourced from certified single vineyards situated beside the Breede River on the R317 between Robertson and Bonnievale in the picturesque Robertson Wine Valley. The wines are carefully bottled on the estate to ensure the highest level of quality.

Certified single vineyards, situated in the heart of the beautiful Robertson Valley alongside the Breede River, define Esona's winemaking. Nestled in fertile sandy silt soil, ideal for cultivating premium wines, these vineyards encapsulate the essence of Esona. The Old Cellar, featuring underground fermentation tanks (kuips), offers a glimpse into the historical winemaking practices of years past. Esona's ancestors employed unique techniques for fermenting wine and brandy, and this legacy continues at the estate.

Esona Boutique Wine Farm offers onsite dining at Caryl's Bistro. The bistro, located upstairs, features a small yet tempting menu that showcases local products for platters and sandwiches. The bistro's large deck, surrounded by vineyards and offering stunning views of the Breede River and mountains, creates an idyllic setting for wine tastings. Visitors can enjoy their tastings on the deck or indoors by the fire on colder days.

Explore the difference between ordinary wine glasses and grape-specific crystal glasses (RIEDEL). The tasting includes pairings of wine, fruit preserves, chocolate, music, and art. Standard tastings allow guests to compare two vintages of each wine in RIEDEL glasses, featuring Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Shiraz. No bookings are required for this sensory journey.
