The estate
Dragonridge Winery is a boutique, organic producer located on Fynbos Estate in the Paardeberg, specializing in natural, minimal-intervention wines.
Dragonridge Winery is located on Fynbos Estate in the Swartland wine region, deep in the Paardeberg. The lovely farm consists of 15 hectares of vineyards and 270 hectares of nature reserve. The name 'Dragonridge' comes from one of the farm's mountains, which resembles a sleeping dragon. Wine-making getaways have been a huge success during harvest — individuals or groups can book a weekend of hands-on winemaking experience, from picking to bottling, and enjoy idyllic accommodation and delectable food.

About
The Wines
Their handcrafted natural organic wines are made mostly from Mediterranean cultivars cultivated on the Fynbos Estate, tucked away in the heart of the Paardeberg's Joubertskloof. These wines are created to have power and longevity in addition to the 'magical' characteristics that set the finest wines apart, just like the dragon-shaped mountain after which they are called.
The approach is straightforward: the winemakers employ early nineteenth-century techniques to create wines that reflect the particular characteristics of the farm. They take pride in the fact that the distance between the vine and the wine is typically no more than 500 meters.
Food & Dining
Dragonridge Wines originate from the picturesque Fynbos Estate nestled in the Paardeberg Mountains. Their culinary philosophy revolves around the use of local and seasonal ingredients, including a bountiful supply of homegrown vegetables and fruits. Beyond his role as a winemaker, Johan reveals his culinary talents as a skilled chef, and together with the dedicated team, they ensure that guests never leave with an empty stomach.
The culinary offerings at Dragonridge span a wide spectrum, encompassing diverse styles from Cape Malay to Mediterranean Country cuisine. To craft a dining experience tailored to each guest's individual preferences, they prefer to engage in discussions regarding menu selection and wine pairing. For catered events and residential guests, meal services are available for parties of 10 or more guests.
