The estate
One of Stellenbosch's oldest estates, family-run Vredenheim combines its own wines with a Big Cats Park, a farm for children, a spa and several places to eat.
Vredenheim was established in 1691, and its manor house was declared a national monument in 1975. Coen and Rikie Bezuidenhout bought the farm in 1986, bringing their love of wildlife, and their children Basie and Elzabé run it today. Elzabé has made the wines since 1987.

About
Wine
The range covers Cap Classique, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé, Pinotage, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as a Cape Vintage Reserve port and grape juices. Tastings are held at Proelokaal, with port tastings at the Boerderywinkel farm shop.
Dining
Plaaslik is the estate's restaurant, and Feeståfel serves a fire-cooked harvest table feast. Picnics, the Garden Restaurant and the Boerderywinkel farm shop round out the options.
