Slaley Wine Estate is a family-run winery located on the western slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain, offering wine tastings, a bistro, and country house accommodation.
Nestled on the foothills of the majestic Simonsberg Mountain in Stellenbosch, Slaley Wine Estate boasts a rich winemaking legacy. Acquired by the Hunting family in 1955, the estate is currently overseen by the third generation, aspiring to uphold and expand upon the remarkable contributions made by Martin Hunting and his son Lindsay.

Wine
Exclusively sourcing grapes from their estate, Slaley crafts classically styled wines, exemplifying the unique terroir of their rolling vineyards. The labels proudly showcase some of the early Hunting ships, paying homage to the family’s maritime history. Noteworthy offerings include a refined Cabernet/Merlot blend, a robust Shiraz, a distinctive Pinotage, a velvety Merlot, and an elegant Chardonnay.
Inspired by an inscribed stone on the farm, the Broken Stone label yields wines with a perfect balance of fruit and minimal wood, produced through reductive methods and extended fermentations. Additionally, the estate boasts 8 hectares of olive groves, cultivating over 3500 olive trees that have gracefully aged for 35 years.
