Oak Valley Estate is a historic, fifth-generation family farm in the cool-climate Elgin Valley, renowned for its premium Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. The estate offers visitors a refined wine tasting experience, a popular restaurant, and an extensive network of mountain biking trails.
Founded in 1898 by Sir Antonie Viljoen, Oak Valley Estate is a pioneer of the Elgin Valley, historically significant for establishing the region's first commercial apple orchards. Today, the estate is a WWF South Africa Conservation Champion, focusing on sustainable, cool-climate viticulture to produce benchmark Burgundian-style Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Beyond its world-class wines, the farm is a vibrant destination featuring a restaurant, tasting room, and a renowned network of mountain biking and hiking trails set against the backdrop of the Groenlandberg mountains.
