The estate
Lovane Boutique Wine Estate is one of the smallest wine estates in Stellenbosch, offering an intimate and personal wine tasting experience. The estate features a unique underground cellar and cozy guesthouse accommodation.
Situated as an award-winning, operational wine farm, Lovane Wine Estate meticulously tends to its vines throughout the year until they reach optimal ripeness for harvesting. The vineyard team takes great care in nurturing the grapes, with the cabernet franc variety typically reaching ripeness first, usually towards the end of February or the beginning of March. Subsequently, the cabernet sauvignon grapes follow suit, and finally, the petit verdot grapes are harvested towards the end of March. Harvesting time brings a festive atmosphere to the farm, with the seasonal team joining in the excitement. All grapes are carefully hand-harvested and sorted before being transformed into exquisite wine. Once the winemaker deems the new wine to be of satisfactory quality, it is transferred to French oak barrels for ageing.

Lovane Wine Estate takes pride in its flagship wine, Isikhati, a Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The 2015 vintage of Isikhati was awarded a Gold Medal at Veritas. The wine range also includes single varietal Estate wines of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, as well as Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, the award-winning Blanc De Noir, and a Methode Cap Classique sourced from the Western Cape region. Guests can enjoy a unique and personalized wine-tasting experience in Lovane’s underground cellar.
