Lanzerac Wine Estate

Situated on one of the oldest heritage farms in the Western Cape, Lanzerac Wine Estate has been cultivating award-winning wines for generations, etching its name in the industry's history as the first winery in the world to feature the term 'Pinotage' on its 1959 vintage label, marking the birth of this distinctive grape varietal. To this day, Lanzerac continues to produce exceptional Pinotage wines, alongside a wide range of other excellent varietals. Guests are warmly invited to indulge in a selection of wine tastings and platters in the inviting ambience of the traditionally styled Tasting Room, conveniently located adjacent to the Deli at the front of the estate.

Nestled amidst vineyards and towering Oak trees, the Lanzerac Deli, situated next to the Tasting Room, serves as a culinary retreat where a team of skilled chefs create homemade delights and delectable sweet creations in an open kitchen.

The Deli offers a cosy indoor seating area as well as an inviting terrace for diners to savour their meals surrounded by the beauty of the estate. At the elegant Manor Kitchen, guests can witness culinary creativity firsthand through large windows that provide glimpses into the kitchen's operations. This acclaimed restaurant is immersed in lush greenery and bathed in natural light, offering a unique gastronomic experience featuring refined high tea and an array of distinctive flavours.

The Taphuis Bar has been welcoming thirsty travellers since the 1960s. Its country-inspired décor is rich in texture with stone walls, brick floors and exposed wooden ceilings. Diners sit inside by the large fire or outdoors on the shady terrace. The relaxed and informal Craven Lounge boasts a roaring fireplace, comfortable seating, plush rugs and adornment of interesting memorabilia on the walls. Alongside an extensive drinks menu, enjoy a selection of tapas plates.

Cooking outside is an important aspect of South African culture. A braai has evolved into an iconic South African social event, with family and friends coming to share excellent tales and a great bottle of wine, creating a memorable experience.
