The estate
Ladybird Vineyards is an organic-focused wine estate in Stellenbosch, offering intimate wine tastings and guest house accommodation.
Ladybird Vineyards, formerly known as Laibach, is dedicated to producing wines that reflect the unique terroir and microclimate of the Simonsberg ward near Stellenbosch, one of South Africa's premier wine-growing regions. Acquired by neighbouring Kanonkop in April 2022, this 40-hectare estate now operates under its new name. The Ladybird Vineyards brand, featuring wines made from the property's 36 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, will replace the Laibach wine range over the next 18 months. The estate includes the original Laibach wine cellar, guest accommodation, and other buildings.

Located in the renowned red wine-producing area of Simonsberg–Stellenbosch, Ladybird Vineyards is famous for "The Ladybird," the first organic red wine from the Simonsberg ward made from organically grown grapes and certified by Ecocert. This wine showcases the vineyard's commitment to quality, reflecting the unique terroir and microclimate of the region. The deep red clay soils anchor the vines firmly, negating the need for irrigation on the 36 hectares of vineyards planted on the northeast-facing slopes of Simonsberg, which provide optimal sun exposure for photosynthetic efficiency and flavour development.
