At Kaapzicht, winemaking is a passion passed down through generations. Danie Steytler and his son create wines they love to drink—full-bodied, round, and fruit-driven, with well-integrated tannins and a lingering finish. Their commitment to excellence drives them to continuously refine their craft, ensuring each vintage surpasses the last.

The estate's 190 hectares of vineyards thrive in ancient weathered granite soils on the northwestern slopes of the Bottelary Hills, where warm sunlight and cool ocean breezes from the nearby Atlantic Ocean create the perfect conditions for bold and expressive wines. With 70% of the vineyard dedicated to red varieties, Kaapzicht is particularly known for its outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Merlot, and Shiraz, which consistently earn accolades both locally and internationally.

Beyond winemaking, Kaapzicht is deeply committed to the upliftment of farmworkers and their families, ensuring a sustainable and supportive environment for the people behind the wines.

While Kaapzicht does not have a full-service restaurant, visitors can enjoy delicious cheese platters thoughtfully curated to complement their wines.
