The inside track

The estate

Diemersfontein is a third-generation family-owned estate in Wellington, world-renowned for pioneering the original Coffee-Chocolate Pinotage.

Diemersfontein Wine Estate, a third-generation working wine farm, upholds tradition and authenticity in the heart of Wellington. Located in the Cape Winelands in the Wellington Valley, the estate offers luxurious accommodations framed by spectacular views and mountain ranges. Owned by the Sonnenbergs since the 1940s, the 183-hectare farm, nestled in the shadow of the majestic Hawekwa Mountains, provides a panoramic view of Du Toit's Kloof and Bains' Kloof mountain ranges. Richard Sonnenberg initiated the vineyards in the 1970s, and in 2000, David constructed a cellar, marking the inception of estate wine production.

Wine

Nestled below the towering Hawekwa Mountains, Diemersfontein offers enchanting views of Du Toits and Bains Kloof. The estate provides a delightful experience of crisp mornings and warm summer days, inviting visitors to indulge in their silky smooth wine ranges. From the Diemersfontein wine range, featuring Pinotage, Chenin Blanc, and Summer's Lease, to the Carpe Diem range, boasting Viognier, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon, there is an enticing selection to suit every palate.

Dining

At Hope Restaurant, guests can enjoy contemporary bistro food meticulously crafted by the culinary team. Drawing inspiration from global cuisines and South Africa's unique heritage, the menu complements Diemersfontein's exquisite wines. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, cherished at The Cellar for 13 years, enhances the dining experience.
