The inside track

The estate

De Morgenzon is a picturesque estate in the Stellenbosch Kloof, famous for its 'musical' vines and award-winning Chenin Blanc.

DeMorgenzon is truly one of the most extraordinary estates in the Western Cape. Situated on the elevated slopes of Stellenbosch Kloof, the estate rises from 200m to nearly 400m above sea level and enjoys sweeping views across False Bay to Cape Town. But what makes DeMorgenzon exceptional is its 90-hectare biodiverse garden, interspersed with 45 hectares of precision vineyards. Classical music plays throughout the vineyards and cellar, and an abundance of carefully curated wildflowers bloom between the vines, enhancing both the environment and the quality of the grapes.

Wine

DeMorgenzon is internationally acclaimed for its expressive, terroir-driven wines, with standout varietals including Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah, and unique blends. Their Reserve Chenin Blanc is consistently rated as one of South Africa's finest, and the estate is known for its elegant whites and structured reds. With minimal intervention, sustainable farming, and biodiversity at its core, the wines showcase purity, complexity, and balance. The connection between the natural environment and winemaking is evident in every sip.

Dining

While DeMorgenzon does not have an on-site restaurant, guests can enjoy a platter for two. The Platter for Two is a beautifully curated spread featuring four premium cheeses, a savoury selection of charcuterie, and marinated olives. Perfectly balanced with sweet fig preserve, it is served alongside fresh, crusty sourdough bread for the ultimate tasting experience.
