Bartho Eksteen Wine Estate is a family-owned boutique winery in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, renowned for its cool-climate Sauvignon Blanc and unique wine education initiatives.
Bartho Eksteen is located in the Hemel-en-Aarde Wine Region, four kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean and near the picturesque seaside town of Hermanus. Warm farm hospitality greets you on your first visit to the Valley, a high-end family-run boutique winery where you may sample top cool-climate, terroir-driven wines.
Wine
Fame is earned through hard work and perseverance. Bartho Eksteen's Sauvignon Blanc, Rhône-style blends, and MCC were well received, and they are now looking forward to harvesting the same fruit from their Pinot Noir. The team is continually pushing the frontiers of winemaking to ensure that every drop is unique for their guests. The chilly environment is highly advantageous for wine production in this region. Gentle southern breezes from across the bay extend the ripening season and keep it cooler than in most other South African wine regions. Grapes ripen to their full capacity without the risks associated with inland heat waves. The resulting wines have outstanding fruit retention, are extremely elegant, and have a lengthy finish.
