Your day at Boschendal Estate

Boschendal offers several settings for ceremonies and receptions, with the option to extend your celebration through rehearsal meals, a stay on the farm or a day-after gathering.

The Olive Press

High ceilings, exposed beams and large windows give the Olive Press a spacious, light-filled feel. The venue accommodates up to 200 guests, with adjacent gardens and lawns providing outdoor possibilities against the mountain backdrop.

Rhone Homestead

This restored Cape Dutch homestead offers a more intimate celebration, with period character and private gardens. It accommodates up to 40 guests indoors or 80 outdoors; an outdoor celebration requires a separately arranged weather backup.

The Retreat

Surrounded by fynbos and mountain views, the Retreat combines a private event setting with 18 cottages accommodating up to 72 overnight guests. Its exclusive-use wedding offering is suited to couples who want their celebration and accommodation together in one secluded part of the farm.

For larger outdoor receptions, the Retreat’s top lawns can accommodate up to 250 guests. This is a lawn-only setting, requiring event infrastructure, furniture, lighting and catering facilities to be brought in.

Staying on the estate

Boschendal’s cottages, farmhouses and villas offer a choice of stays for the wedding party and guests. Accommodation arrangements, catering, venue inclusions and weather plans are confirmed for your chosen space and dates.

What's Included

Each venue package includes an event service manager, barmen, bathroom attendants, security and back-up power, with tables, chairs and bar glassware at the Olive Press and the Retreat. The Olive Press and the Retreat include a set-up day before the wedding.

Food & Drink

Catering is by Boschendal's pre-approved caterers, who share the farm's focus on fresh, seasonal produce. Boschendal runs the bar with its own wines. Pre- and post-wedding events, from welcome drinks on the Manor House lawns to a casual evening at the Friday Night Market, can be added.

Good to Know

A wedding planner is required, and décor, sound and ceremony seating are sourced separately. Events end by 02:00 (midnight at the Retreat), and site visits are by appointment Monday to Saturday. Wine in the Cape can arrange your quote, site visit and guest transport.
