Flagstone Wines is a bold, award-winning wine brand born out of creativity, passion, and a desire to do things differently. Originally founded in a Cape Town harbour depot, Flagstone was South Africa's first urban winery. Today, it operates from a historic 1901 dynamite factory in Somerset West near Stellenbosch — a unique setting that reflects the brand's innovative spirit. Flagstone is not just a winery, but a creative hub where stories, ethics, and craftsmanship converge to create wines that are both expressive and deeply rooted in South African terroir.

Wine
Flagstone's winemaking philosophy focuses on crafting wines with purpose and personality. The team sources grapes from seven key vineyard regions, including Stellenbosch, Elgin, Swartland, and Walker Bay, allowing them to express the diversity of South African terroir. Their wines range from old vine single-vineyard selections to unique blends like "Dragon Tree" and "Free Run Sauvignon Blanc." Flagstone's winemaker Hendrik Snyman and his team follow strict sustainable practices and are active members of the Wine and Agricultural Ethical Trade Association (WIETA). Each bottle is a celebration of balance, storytelling, and the land it comes from.
Dining
Flagstone Wines does not currently have a formal restaurant, but their Cellar Door in Somerset West offers curated wine tastings in a historic setting. The estate's wines can also be found at many fine dining restaurants throughout the Cape Winelands and beyond.
