The inside track

The estate

Perched on the steep slopes of the Franschhoek Mountains, Dieu Donné Vineyards offers panoramic valley views, boutique wines, and a scenic tasting room.

Nestled high on the southwestern slopes of the Franschhoek Mountains, Dieu Donné Vineyards offers breathtaking panoramic views and a cool climate ideal for winemaking. The combination of rocky granite soils and gentle ocean breezes results in a terroir that enhances the complexity of each vintage.

Winemaker Gregory Siebrits, who has been with Dieu Donné since 1998, carefully crafts a selection of wines that blend new-world elegance with old-world charm. Whether enjoying a glass at sunset overlooking the Simonsberg Mountains or exploring the vineyard's heritage, visitors are invited to experience the beauty and craftsmanship behind each bottle.

Wine

The steep slopes and cool summer conditions of Dieu Donné provide the perfect growing environment for producing wines with concentrated flavours and a balanced structure. The estate's rocky Greywacke soils, which are left unirrigated, further enhance the unique character of each varietal.

Dieu Donné is known for its Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as a Méthode Cap Classique and Viognier. Merlot is the flagship wine, showcasing the estate's ability to craft elegant, fruit-driven reds with a distinct sense of place.

Winemaker Gregory Siebrits introduced his first signature vintage in 2019 and continues to innovate with a new "Botanical" range set for release.

Dining

While Dieu Donné no longer operates a full-service restaurant, visitors can enjoy curated snacks and platters alongside their wine-tasting experience. These seasonal, locally inspired offerings are the perfect complement to an afternoon spent savouring the estate's fine wines.
