Dalla Cia is a boutique wine and spirit producer in Stellenbosch, renowned for its pioneering Bordeaux-style blends and artisanal Grappa.
The Dalla Cia saga commences in the 1920s in Friuli, Italy, with Vittorio Dalla Cia, a visionary wine merchant. His foresight and unwavering focus on innovation led to the establishment of the first Distillery, which blossomed into a leading Italian Grappa producer.
In a bold move in 1974, Vittorio's son Giorgio relocated the family to South Africa. Drawing on his experience as a distiller and qualified oenologist, Giorgio dedicated 25 years to Meerlust Estate. He revolutionized the South African wine scene by pioneering Bordeaux-style blends and even set up the country's first Grappa Distillery on a wine estate. Today, the Dalla Cia legacy endures, a testament to their Italian heritage and South African innovation.
