About Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate
Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate, one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa, is renowned for its red wines and is a provincial heritage site. Located in the Faure suburb within the Stellenbosch Wine Production Region, this historic estate spans 160 hectares. The name “Vergenoegd” translates to “delighted, amused” in Dutch, reflecting the estate’s charm. Positioned on the lower reaches of the Eerste River, the vineyards benefit from cooling south-westerly breezes from False Bay, creating an ideal environment for wine production.
