Since 1990, this small Ecocert-certified fruit and wine farm has been crafting exceptional organic Brandy, Grappa, Port, and Wines. In addition to these award-winning beverages, Upland cultivates various crops, including fruits, nuts, olives, and olive oils.

While Upland Organic Estate doesn’t boast an on-site restaurant, the town of Wellington beckons visitors with a diverse array of dining options.
There is a variety of experiences at the estate.
Embark on a journey into the past with Upland’s specialised tasting “klaskamer,” housed in the first classroom of Wellington. This private cellar experience invites you to step back in time; booking in advance via phone or email ensures an intimate exploration of their exceptional offerings.
While Upland treasures its land, fauna, and flora, it’s not a public hiking area. However, supporters of Upland’s environmentally friendly ethos can request access to explore, bird watch, and relax. Scenic walks and picnic spots adorn the farm, providing an opportunity to enjoy nature. Secluded spots by the river offer a serene setting for your own picnic, with the chance to encounter otters.
Upland Organic Estate boasts a diverse ecosystem, with mammals like Vaal Ribbok, Grysbok, African wild cat, Cape Otter, Cape Hare, porcupine, genet, water mongoose, shrews, field mice, and the rare Striped Weasel. Bird enthusiasts can spot 112 species, including the elusive Buff Spotted Flufftail, Peregrine, and Honey Buzzard. The river reveals its secrets, hosting small fish, notably the endangered Berg River Redfin.
