Tucked away at the end of a long, dusty road at the southern tip of Africa, Sijnn Wines is a pioneering estate that defies convention. Situated in the Malgas region along the Breede River, Sijnn is the first and only first-growth appellation in the area—a true unicorn within the Cape Winelands and Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Founded by David and Rita Trafford in 2000, the estate was born from a bold vision to harness the exceptional soils of Lemoentuin and craft wines of singular character. Today, Sijnn stands as a testament to the power of place, where rugged landscapes, a warm maritime climate, and minimal intervention farming combine to create wines of remarkable expression.
