Wine

Inspired by the “full-bodied creative” that once resided among the vines, Pigcasso’s signature wine collection is as bold as its muse. The range includes two expressive red blends — Sweet Carowine and Well-Bred Red — alongside the refreshing Mighty White and the playful Rosé Posey. Available for purchase at the sanctuary, these wines are crafted to spark conversation and celebrate individuality. Each bottle embodies a slice of “Hog Heaven” — a tribute to artistry, resilience and the spirit of the farm.

The Story of Pigcasso

Rescued in 2016 by founder Joanne Lefson, Pigcasso’s journey from vulnerable piglet to international art sensation captured global imagination. What began as curiosity around a forgotten paintbrush evolved into record-breaking success. From CNN to BBC Headline News, from collaborating with global brands to appearing in the Guinness World Records, Pigcasso redefined what was possible. In 2021, her artwork “WILD AND FREE” sold for £20,000 — setting the world record for the highest-selling artwork by an animal. She even designed a SWATCH watch that sold out globally within hours.

Although Pigcasso passed away in March 2024, her legacy lives on. Visitors can still view her original works in the onsite OINK Gallery, alongside creations by BAANKSY, the sheep who learnt to paint by watching her as a lamb. Proceeds from artwork sales continue to support the sanctuary’s rescue work.

Visitors are welcome daily between 11am and 4pm. Admission is free, with donations warmly appreciated. While there are no food offerings on site (unless you enjoy grass and hay!), water and coffee are available.

Guests can choose between a renovated container stay with chic-rustic charm or the central barn loft — complete with vintage decks, steam, sauna and sweeping valley views. Accommodation must be booked in advance, with barn stays from R1800 per night. Each stay promises an unforgettable experience long after the cows come home — peaceful, personal and entirely unique.
