Nestled in the Bottelary Hills of Stellenbosch, Mooiplaas Wine Estate and Private Nature Reserve combines natural beauty with a deep sense of history and tradition. Owned by brothers Tielman and Louis Roos, this estate stands out for its steep vineyards rooted in ancient, mineral-rich soils, producing wines that reflect the authenticity of the Cape Winelands. With its Cape Dutch architecture and rich heritage dating back to 1806, Mooiplaas is more than just a winery—it’s a place where history, nature, and winemaking converge.

Wine

Mooiplaas is dedicated to producing wines that are both elegant and full of character. Under the watchful eye of cellar master Louis Roos, the winemaking process here adheres to traditional methods—wild yeast fermentation, minimal filtration, and ageing in small oak barrels. Each bottle is a reflection of the estate’s unique terroir and environmentally conscious approach, with grapes grown using biodiversity principles.
