About Mont Marie

Nestled on the banks of the picturesque Blaauwklippen River, Mont Marie offers a memorable retreat in the heart of the Western Cape. Surrounded by lush natural beauty, the estate exudes outstanding Stellenbosch charm, creating an ideal environment for discerning visitors and those searching for a taste of casual luxury. Mont Marie’s sunny and welcoming atmosphere extends to all guests, with facilities such as an outdoor play area for children and a classic VIP Lounge section in the private wine cellar, ensuring a delightful experience for every visitor.

Wine

Mont Marie carefully orchestrates the winemaking process by applying the Bordeaux treatment to all its vineyards. Grapes are harvested in mid-February during summertime, and the fermentation of the skins takes ten days. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations follow, with lactic acid processing and a resulting glycerol yield. The Barrique vats, holding 225 litres of fermenting wine each, are of the French oak variety. Once the timeless process concludes, Klein DasBosch wines find their home in elegant, tasteful bottles.

Mont Marie Restaurant, under the culinary direction of Owner and Chef Pieter Vlok, presents an authentic South African seasonal menu. The restaurant prides itself on using only the freshest locally sourced produce, maintaining an exquisite standard of cuisine. VIP Area at Mont Marie

The VIP Area at Mont Marie, accommodating 35 guests, offers a darker, intimate setting with wooden floors, leather couches, and a bar area. This area provides a unique gathering atmosphere, perfect for private dining or as a lounge. A set menu is available for groups of 15 guests or more, with a 50% deposit required to secure the booking. Set menus are designed according to seasonal offerings and group preferences, ensuring a tailored experience.
