Nestled along Bottelary Road in the renowned Stellenbosch wine district, Kaapzicht Wine Estate is a family-owned winery with a rich heritage spanning over four generations. Owned by the Steytler family since 1946, the estate’s name, meaning “Cape View”, perfectly reflects the breathtaking panoramic vistas of Cape Town and Table Mountain, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Today, Danie and George Steytler continue the family’s winemaking legacy, crafting wines that embody the unique terroir and timeless tradition of Kaapzicht.

At Kaapzicht, winemaking is a passion passed down through generations. Danie Steytler and his son create wines they love to drink—full-bodied, round, and fruit-driven, with well-integrated tannins and a lingering finish. The estate’s 190 hectares of vineyards thrive in ancient weathered granite soils on the northwestern slopes of the Bottelary Hills, where warm sunlight and cool ocean breezes from the nearby Atlantic Ocean create the perfect conditions for bold and expressive wines. With 70% of the vineyard dedicated to red varieties, Kaapzicht is particularly known for its outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Merlot, and Shiraz, which consistently earn accolades both locally and internationally.
