Hamilton Russell Vineyards pioneered cultivation and winemaking in the magnificent, chilly, coastal Hemel-en-Aarde Valley appellation, close to Hermanus, South Africa. The Estate is known for producing very distinctive, terroir-driven Pinot noir and Chardonnay that are widely regarded as the best in South Africa and among the best in the world.
Tim Hamilton Russell, the founder, purchased the undeveloped property in 1975 following an arduous search for the most southerly place to produce South Africa’s best cool climate wines from an array of noble varietals.
