About De Grendel Wine Estate
De Grendel Wine Estate is located on the historic Cape farm bearing its name, which has been in the Graaff family for five generations since its establishment in 1720. The Durbanville Wine Valley farm has a long-standing tradition of raising cattle, sheep, and horses, spanning over a century. The vineyards and modern wine cellar were established by 3rd Baronet Sir David Graaff, and his son, Sir De Villiers, continues this legacy. Cellar master Charles Hopkins combines contemporary winemaking techniques with a deep respect for the farm’s heritage, commitment to eco-conscious practices, and dedication to producing wines of exceptional quality.
