Just 30 minutes from Cape Town, South Africa and conveniently positioned between Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, this versatile venue offers an authentic farm experience within easy reach of the Winelands’ most celebrated destinations.

For over 200 years, Damarakloof has remained in the same family — and since 1904, it has been stewarded by three generations of remarkable women. Their strength, determination and devotion to the land have shaped the farm into what it is today: a place where tradition meets celebration, and where the rhythm of rural life continues to unfold with grace.

Wine

At the heart of Damarakloof’s wine story lies Racetrack, their signature handcrafted wine — a tribute to legacy, perseverance and the land itself. The name pays homage to a local racetrack once regarded as inferior due to its gravelly soil. This land was bequeathed to Elizabeth, who defied convention and chose to farm it herself. Against expectation, she transformed the rugged terrain into thriving vineyards. The struggle of those vines — forced to root deep and endure — contributes to the distinctive character and complexity of Racetrack wines.

Agnes de Vos continued the tradition, and today a new generation of women, including award-winning winemaker Carla Pauw, carries the legacy forward. Each vintage is carefully handcrafted, reflecting resilience, heritage and the unmistakable expression of this unique Muldersvlei terroir.

Dine

Damarakloof offers a naturally beautiful setting for relaxed, farm-style celebrations. While catering is tailored to each event, the estate provides sweeping lawns and open-air spaces ideal for harvest tables, long lunches, and elegant receptions beneath the Winelands sky.

Rolling fields of vines and crops create a rustic yet refined backdrop for pre-drinks and dining, where guests can gather in the golden light of late afternoon and celebrate surrounded by nature.

Wine Tastings

Guests are invited to experience Racetrack, Damarakloof’s signature handcrafted wine, born from gravelly soils once considered inferior and transformed through generations of determination. Weddings & Events

Damarakloof is a versatile working farm offering three unique venues — the Farm Barn, Garden Pavilion and Chapel — ideal for weddings and private functions. Stay at Damarakloof

Damarakloof offers two charming farm-style guesthouses, perfect for wedding parties, family gatherings or countryside escapes. The R304 House accommodates up to 12 guests, while the Country House comfortably sleeps 6 and is available year-round. Both homes reflect the relaxed rhythm of farm living, providing comfort, privacy and a peaceful retreat surrounded by vineyards and open skies.
