Creation Wines, nestled in South Africa’s Walker Bay region, embraces a spirit of constant innovation and challenge. This trendsetting approach defines their identity, transforming the estate into a dynamic hub of collective energy and creative winemaking.
Creation Wines boasts an ideal location, high up on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge. Their vines ascend the steep hills of Babylon Toren Mountain to a great altitude of 300 meters above sea level. Here, they enjoy abundant sunshine, fertile clay soils, and cold breezes coming in from the adjacent Atlantic Ocean. In 2002, JC and Carolyn Martin, who were both born in South Africa but raised in Switzerland, decided to take on the task of opening a winery in a secluded area of Walker Bay. They set out with a goal to turn the 40 hectares into a model wine farm despite the fact that the land had never before been planted with vines. Not an easy task, but JC and Carolyn come from pioneering wine-making families that span at least three generations and two continents.
Their distinctive setting on the picturesque Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge is a popular wine region where visitors of all ages are welcomed with open arms. A really unforgettable experience is provided to their guests by the knowledgeable and attentive staff, well-known wine and food pairings, exquisite finishing touches like premium Riedel glassware, and many other factors. Creation Wines has a comprehensive range of red and white wines, sparkling Cap Classique, Syrah Cape Fine Vintage, and two Creation Gins. They offer a vegan-friendly Art of Creation Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, both of which are the pinnacle of their portfolio, and painstakingly created by cellarmaster Jean-Claude Martin. In addition to a variety of wine and food pairing options, Creation features a daily Blackboard Menu with a selection of dishes crafted with the freshest locally sourced ingredients.
