Constantia Royale is nestled on Nova Zonnestraal Estate, dating back to the 1700s, and was once part of the Alphen Estate. Today, this 17-hectare farm in the Constantia Valley focuses on grape and olive cultivation, alongside its esteemed equestrian yard known for producing exceptional show jumpers. The farm’s seven hectares of Sauvignon Blanc, nestled between olive groves and paddocks, hold promise for achieving similar acclaim.
Constantia Royale, a limited production Sauvignon Blanc, is crafted from grapes grown on Nova Zonnestraal’s family-owned estate. The Don’s Reserve, a superior blend, enhances its wine portfolio and has garnered excellent reviews both locally and internationally. The Hidden Gem of Nova Zonnestraal is a tunnel built in 1965 under the M3 highway, serving as a unique space for wine storage and tastings. This venue, available for private functions and tastings, offers sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 am to 4 pm. For R100 per person, guests can sample current and older vintages of Constantia Royale and Don’s Reserve in this distinctive location. The serene environment, with views of the Constantiaberg and the vineyard, provides a captivating backdrop.
