About Beyerskloof Wines
In just 30 years – a single generation – Beyerskloof Wines has established itself as synonymous with South Africa’s heritage varietal, Pinotage. The journey commenced with the planting of a vineyard at a small home farm off the Koelenhof road in Stellenbosch, which was acquired in 1988. At this historic juncture, Beyers Truter, the driving force behind Beyerskloof, immersed himself in the soil to inaugurate the planting of the first vines, marking the inception of an iconic narrative. The genuine essence of wine takes shape in the vineyards, with each site being accorded distinctive treatment. Leaves are carefully removed to optimize sun exposure, and yields are managed to maximize the flavour profile.
At Beyerskloof, a particular fondness exists for bush vines, particularly for their premium Pinotage. These vines yield smaller berries, resulting in exquisite colours and captivating characteristics.
