Set along the Stormsvlei Road in the Southern Appellation of Bonnievale, Arendsig Wines is a boutique wine estate defined by its commitment to terroir, balance, and simplicity. Located just 78 kilometres from the coast, the Robertson Wine Valley farm enjoys a climate that enhances vineyard expression—shaped by sun, wind, and soil. Every block is carefully considered, and each wine tells the story of its specific site. Wine

Arendsig Wines focuses on Single Vineyard Wines made with a philosophy of minimal interference. Natural yeasts guide fermentation, and no enzymes or additives are used. Maturation takes place in neutral vessels, allowing the pure character of each vineyard block to shine. This artisanal process, guided by the skilled hands of winemaker Lourens van der Westhuizen, results in wines that are precise, expressive, and deeply rooted in the land from which they come. While Arendsig Wines does not have an on-site restaurant, guests are welcome to enjoy a picnic or light meal in the tranquil surroundings of the estate. The nearby Bonnievale and Robertson regions also offer several charming eateries, perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner during your visit.

Wine Tasting

Tastings at Arendsig are offered by appointment, providing a more intimate and personalised experience. Guests can explore the Single Vineyard range while learning about the estate’s winemaking philosophy, vineyard sites, and minimal-intervention approach.

Weddings and Events

Arendsig is a superb venue for small weddings and private celebrations, with flexible spaces including the old clay cellar, riverbank setting, The Exchange, or a cosy lounge area. Each event is custom-designed in partnership with the client to ensure a memorable and personal celebration for up to 40 guests.

Mountain Biking

With trails ranging from gentle family rides to challenging routes once used to train for the Cape Epic, Arendsig is a haven for mountain bikers. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bikes and explore the scenic tracks weaving through Arendsig and surrounding farms.

Fishing

The Breede River runs through the estate, offering an idyllic setting for casual fishing. Bring your own gear and relax by the water as you help contribute to the estate’s informal river fish count—simply share your catch via photos to be part of the experience.

Stay at Arendsig Wines

Arendsig offers four comfortable, self-catering farm cottages located between the Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards, just 100 meters from the Breede River. The cottages provide an ideal escape for couples, families, or friends looking to unwind in nature. Each unit is well-equipped and styled for relaxed comfort, making it a perfect weekend getaway only 155km from Cape Town.
