About Louisvale Winery
Louisvale Winery, a trailblazer in introducing Chardonnay to South Africa, embarked on its wine odyssey in 1986 under the ownership of Hans Froehling and Leon Stemmet. Remaining faithful to its roots, the estate in Stellenbosch exclusively cultivates this varietal to this day. Since 1994, the vineyard has expanded its scope to encompass Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes sourced from a neighbouring vineyard. Spanning 34 hectares, the property situated in Devon Valley yields both still and MCC sparkling wines. Anchoring the estate is a manor house constructed in 1924, flanked by a striking tasting centre envisioned by architect Christof Albertyn.
