About Leeuwenkuil Family Vineyards
Leeuwenkuil Family Vineyards, situated as the southernmost farm in the Swartland, acts as the gateway to this captivating wine region. The farm cultivates vineyards of distinction with a view of the majestic Table Mountain and employs innovative winemaking techniques to maintain a blend of tradition and freshness.
Willie and Emma Dreyer, the proud owners of Leeuwenkuil Family Vineyards, began their journey together when they met at the age of 16. Together, they have transformed Leeuwenkuil into a revered institution in the Swartland. The estate they oversee, one of the earliest wine farms in the region, dates back to 1693 when it was originally known as Schinderkuijl and boasted 8000 vines. Following several subdivisions, the Dreyer family assumed ownership of the farm in 1851, and over the years, they have nurtured it into the estate with the largest expanse of grapevines in South Africa.
