Andreas Boutique Winery is a hidden gem nestled in the Bovlei Valley, just outside Wellington. This wine estate covers 4.5 hectares of vineyards, an elegant eighteenth-century house, and lush gardens. Its historical charm and elegance date back to its origins as one of the first Huguenot settlements in the valley. Archaeological evidence even suggests occupation by the Acheulean people over 300,000 years ago.
The estate benefits from the perfect terroir, with long, hot summer days, cool late afternoon breezes, and decomposed granite and shale soil, ideal for growing their award-winning Syrah grapes. In 2015, Andreas was acquired by a group of U.K. wine enthusiasts who are dedicated to building on the estate’s heritage and reputation, taking both to new heights.
